Chequepues Dallin Poulson 7/23/2016

So I may or may not have ruined my companions hair during a haircut and had to give him a super short buzz cut.... 😬 I FEEL SO BAD! I guess everyone makes mistakes haha But yeah, he took it like a champ! I guess my hair cutting career ended just as fast as it started!

On last Saturday night, an elder had to have a surgery on his stomach at midnight. The nurse called us to come by to help his companion give him a blessing. They also needed a ride so we hung out in the emergency room from 10 to about 1:30 in the morning. He stayed the night and we took him back to his area the next day. All is well with him!

This week we did a TON of driving around the mission. We dropped off a lot of big things like beds and fridges at several houses. On thursday, a missionary found out that he had to go home for 2 months because he fell and hurt his back on monday. I ended up taking his companion back to his area 3 hours away to pack up all the bags. The road to Santa Rosa, Copan is full of HUGE potholes and i did a pretty good job at dodging most of them. But not all of them! Definitely tested out the truck's suspension due to some surprise potholes. Santa Rosa is probably the most desireable area in the mission. It is so beautiful and is nice and fresh perfect weather.

My companion and I ended up sleeping in La Entrada for the night because it got dark and we were still several hours away from home. I got to sleep in my old area! I went and visited the converts we had while i was there and even got some to go to the Fellowship night! It was a great time and we were all so happy to see each other again.

We had a great lesson with Maribel, the lady who works for the US embasssy from arizona. She is friends with some members in our ward so we brought the members along. Everyone speaks english except for my companion so the lesson was about 90% spanish! It was a great lesson and we were able to explain the book of mormon to her and her questions about who is who. It was great, she bought us pizza too!

Life's just flying by here in the office. I cant believe i am already halfway through another transfer! Thats crazy! I think i will only be in here for one more, but we will see.

Oh yeah, we had a huge money toss with all the 1 lempira bills that we all save up just for fun. It was awesome. See pictures!

ISAIAH 40:31 Weston Poulson 7/18/2016

Had no idea what to caption this email, once again but that is one of my favorite scriptures!

Isaiah: 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew thier strength; they shall mounty up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Well, not a whole lot this week but lets get to it! Monday I got a haircut and then we went to Kenosha to stay the night at the Zone Leaders apartment for Zone Training Meeting on Tuesday! It was fun, ZTM was good too! Got to see some old buddies like Elder Shaum! He's an inspiration to me and a really good friend.

So about a month ago, Elder Shaum's dad got in a motorcycle accident and about a week after passed away. Elder Shaum went home for the service and then came right back out on his mission the next day. He missed zone conference where he would have given his final testimony,(because he goes home in less then 2 months) so he gave it at Zone Training and something he said in it really stuck out to me and he said that
"If you go home and you haven't changed at all who you are on your mission you will return in vain. Let the Lord into you heart and your soul and give him all you've got for the rest of your mission, and become who you know you can be"
Something along those lines but it's true, and I loved it. He has the strongest testimony I've heard in a long time and he as a huge inspiration to me! Heres a picture of us after ZTM!
Other then that not too much else happened this week! We got dropped by some good investigators but that's all apart of it! Working hard to find the prepared people! The field is white, im ready to harvest! So I went to the fields..
HAH yeah that was a missionary joke! but i was watching some mormon channel today and heard this sweet quote that i think you'll all like, especially in times of trials.
"God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers."
Its true! God will not allow us any trial that we cannot overcome as long as we turn to him and allow him to help us! Love you all so much! have a great week! Hold it down!

Tigras Dallin Poulson 7/16/2016

Heyooo.

This week we had a TON to do. We had transfers this week which meant a bunch of crazy work going on, also even more because our car is still in the shop. It was a really full week that's for sure. We had all of the new missionaries show up on Tuesday. Some of us went out and tracted with them while they waited for their first interview with President. It was a good time with them. They ended up sleeping at our house and asking us a million questions about the mission and if it was ever going to cool down hahaa... nope! :/

After they left we had another crazy day of getting things done for transfers, full of pizza runs, phone calls, and random shenanigans. The elders who were going home the next day stayed the night at our house. We had a great time with them, talking about all their old areas and fun stories.
I have a lot more on my plate as far as work goes, which honestly makes me happier!
Sadly, I don't have very much to tell y'all about with teaching people. We did have a 9am lesson with a lady though, it went okay haha.

I have started reading the new testament in spanish for the first time this week. I am learning a couple new words as I do it so I see it as killing two birds with one stone. Learn doctrine, and learn spanish! I have no idea if my spanish is getting better or not here because I speak a lot of english in the office. Gotta stay on top of that haha
Most of my days just consist of running errands, running stuff to peoples houses, or working on the computer! Not much to tell yall about haha

We did however, go to the zoo today. We had to take some supplies to some missionaries out in my old zone, yojoa. The zoo was relatively close so we got permission to go for P-Day. BEST ZOO TRIP OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. We played with a TIGER for about 30 minutes. She just kept coming up to the edge of the  fence and would rub herself up on the fence, just like a cat does with our legs. It then decided to chase us around the cage. There is a pool and it was running through the water and pouncing up on the fence to get us. It got us super soaked from the water as it jumped up at us. After jumping up, it would try to get petted from us. Best experience ever! I uploaded some videos of it. Our cameras were all dying. Aside from that, we saw a bunch of cool animals and I even touched a couple of them. Among which were; a tiger, a monkey, an anteater, a waterbuffalo, and a mink tried to scratch my shoe. It was the best P-Day ever.
Also we met a whole STAKE there. There were a bunch of little mormoncitos with there Capitan Moroni flags and matching shirts running around. A lot of the leaders were wondering why we were there on Saturday haha we had to explain our situation several times. It was awesome!

Anyway, keep on keeping on everyone. Keep the missionaries in your prayers, we need'em!

W I S C O N S I N Weston Poulson 7/11/2016

Sometimes you just have no idea what to caption your emails haha ANYWAYS!

This week Elder DeSantis took off and i got Elder Burgon! Elder DeSantis is in MKE (Milwaukee) now doin work in the YSA. Heres a pic of Elder Burgon.
He can't speak spanish so I'm getting my practice in that's for sure!
This week was good, we went back to Jefferson and knocked some of the hispanic apartments that we knocked last time and went to see Lizette but she was at her cousins apartment down the street who were actually people who said we could come back! This is where Elder Burgon started learning hispanic culture. Dinim, the mom of that apartment is white and only speaks english opened the door and said they didn't have time but then I asked about Lizette and she said to come right in! Annnddddd they fed us! anndddd we had two other dinner appointments! haha all good though! Built a good strong relationship with them and they like us!

Yesterday we were doin some tractin' next to those apartments and we found this little hispanic family who immediately invited us in and not to long after offered us some tamales! haha we ate and then taught the Restoration to them and invited them to be baptized, they aren't sure yet but thats alright! We're going back on Tuesday! That'll be good!

Tomorrow we have Zone Training so that should be fun!
Rumors are starting to circle about us getting ipads but idk. Although when I dropped Elder DeSantis off at the mission office the AP's asked president about the "Laptop".  He being new went up and picked up the only laptop bag that he saw and it was indeed a laptop! But what I saw inside with it was a brand new, in-box, IPAD! haha We'll see though, I won't get my hopes up! So don't be surprised if we don't have them next week haha.

Good week, sorry not a whole lot happened but we are working hard at finding investigators and all is going well! Hope you all have a great week and enjoy this photo! My brother had it made for me then he sent it to me! haha he's awesome! Have a good day!

About the pics, that is about half the people who come to ball on Tuesday nights! It's pretty fun!
It's Josh in the tank top and Pony in the black shirt then JP is the kid! They are good friends of mine.

La Pura Vida (The Pure Life) Dallin Poulson 7/9/2016

An Old Spaniard Fortress Castle Thing in Omoa, Honduras

Hey there bro's and brodettes! haha
Happy 4th of July!
We had a mini celebration and got hyped about America in our house. Listened to the Star Spangled Banner way too many times! Also, our neighbors started shooting off a ton of cool fireworks and we got to watch them.
LET FREEDOM RINGGGG!

I had a great week! Just random stuff to be honest! We're prepping for the new missionaries and the transfers here in the office so it is a bit more busy here. I also picked up a few more responsibilities here since we got a new president. I now make his schedule and help him with a lot of stuff like that. I'm making a cool map of the mission, for the mission. It will have all the missionary houses and churches and stuff for the nurse and whatever else we need. Cool eh? Super hard because addresses do not exist here! (Sorry my life is boring here in the office but I assume yall want to me to send you the boring stuff too haha)

I started running this week with one of the AP´s. I am getting a little pansón as my mom would say!

2 Elders completed 18 months this week and burned their pants outside the house to celebrate!

We had a great lesson this week. We teach a lady named Maribel, she is from Arizona and works in the embassy down here. She has 5 guards outside her house!! Also a gated community haha. Anyway, we taught her before, over a month ago. This time we explained the Book of Mormon much more in depth.  She told us that it makes waay more sense now and she was pretty excited to start reading it.  She is really nice.
I am getting a new companion!  The other secretaries run is over in the office. So my new companion is being trained by him this week.  His name is Elder Coc from Guatemala!

Today for P-day we had a blast! We went to a fortress castle thing in Omoa, Honduras. We took a bus and messed around and took photos at an old Spaniard Fort. It was really cool and fun. Later we went to the beach/dock adn ate some really good seafood?  Lobster and shrimp and stuff right on the ecge of the water?  It was a P-day to remember.

MURICA'! YEAH! Weston Poulson 4/5/2016

First of all, Happy Birthday America! Second, this week wasn't bad! I feel like a month worth of stuff happened and all I can remember is what I ate for breakfast this morning so we will see how this goes!

Well this week we got our new president! His name is President Williams! He's pretty awesome! Crazy story, he proposed to his wife in 77 hours after meeting her! haha thats pretty crazy! But man they have some strong testimonies and are really excited to be out here and working in Wisconsin so I'm excited too!

My brother sent me an awesome tie! it will be I one of the pictures below but I love him a ton! He's saving souls out in Honduras incase you were wondering why the San Pedro Sula mission is so legit! haha

I'm just going to get to the good stuff that happened. Sunday comes around and we get the transfer text bright and early! Well, Elder DeSantis was on it so we knew he was going somewhere and wanted to know all day but we had to wait til Monday when they sent out the transfer board.

Anyways, the Lucian family fed us dinner and we were having a good lesson/talk on the atonement and life in general and having a great time with the kids and then all of the sudden I get a call from a area code I didn't recognize at all so I only said "hello" and low and behold I hear "Hello this is President Williams is this the Lake Mills elders?" and I'm like CRAAAAP! and so I'm like oh yes this is Elder Poulson, how has your day been? so we talk and he told me to just call him back when we got home.

The whole way home we are just freaking out and then we get home call him and he asks to speak with E. DeSantis and thats when I knew.. He called him to be AP! haha he's gonna do great!

So then for the 4th a member took us golfing. A Nonmember was supposed to come but he didn't so we went anyways and it was fun! I didn't do so bad! Not gonna lie haha only lost by 2! and birdied the last whole😏Anyways that was pretty awesome way to start of Independence day! The rest of the day we just said bye to everyone and I helped him pack and get ready to be a AP, it was gooood. Played him in chess for dinner and pulled a comeback for the dubs!

Anyways I'm sure this week sounds pretty lame but it was really good! Not a whole lot going for us right now as far as finding prepared people or teaching towards progression but thats how it is sometimes!
Love you all, hope you all have a great week! Hold it down!

Estoy Cacahuate Dallin Poulson 7/2/2016

Wellllll, hello there!
Lets see, what happened this week?

Oh yeah, we got a new mission president!!  His name is President Bush, from Washington D.C.!! How cool is that! He was a lawyer. He served in Argentina a long time ago. He is super nice and awesome. I haven't spent a ton of time with him but they seem to love it here already!

President Dester left the day after President Bush got here. Man, that was a hard goodbye! He is such a great example to all of us as missionaries. But I guess after 3 years in honduras, he could probably use a break!

As for the Ruta, I don't think anything really abnormal happened! There are some really cool street performers at the stop lights that juggle machetes and flaming balls and flaming machetes  though! I will try to get a video of it some time!

Part of my job in the office is making sure all the houses have smoke detectors. I got a call yesterday from the elder that I replaced about a situation with his smoke detector. It is brand new but started  beeping really loud like once a minute at 2:30 am. He read the back and it said that it was expired if it beeps once every minute. He tried deactivating it but it wouldn't stop beeping. So he puts it in the cupboard but cant sleep cause it is too loud. He puts it in the fridge! Still way too loud to sleep. Puts it in between his two mattresses, nope! Way too loud. So he is super angry at this point and puts it in the pila!  (a giant tub of water in each house) and what does he hear? BEEP. He thought that it was kind of sealed tight and maybe the water might not get in very fast. It kept beeping for 5 more minutes. So, angry as can be, he goes outside and throws it down the road! It makes a quieter beep and he is satisfied. He goes inside and BEEEP. WHAT? Turns out they threw away the OLD detector and it was the one beeping! Not the new one! haha I was laughing way too hard when he told me the story.
Last PDay I gave the little old man that cleans our house a haircut! President came to pick us up mid-haircut and saw me through the gate and started laughing! It was funny!
I also gave Elder Elmer a haircut today. Super hard thing to do! (Camyll might be proud of me though!)

We were driving back home one night and a car had broke down in the front of an intersection, we kept driving but then we all kinda decided to go back and help them. It was kinda raining but we flipped a U and went and pushed their car out of traffic! Felt good!

Well, we still don't really have investigators, so we just contact and teach random people. I will be letting yall know when we get some awesome people to teach!

Hope ya all have a great week!  Dallin

Most my pics are boring this week!
