This week was great! We got a lot more work done in our area this week and it felt fantastic.
On Sunday we received a giant missionary name tag that says Familia Misionera (Missionary Family) and we took it to a family who the wife just got baptized. They gave us a reference and will go out and visit with us soon! It was pretty cool.
We had a Multizone Conference with Elder Alonso, from the Seventy. President, Sister Bush, and Elder Alonso spoke to us about several topics. It was a really good conference. Elder Alonso is a pretty straight forward guy and he told us that there were several in the room that needed to talk to President and repent. Woooooo! Haha I don't doubt it but dang that is confidence! But he talked about obedience and it was a really good experience.
We contacted/tracted a ton this week. We met quite a few new people to teach which is really good. It has been rough in the area while i have been here in the office but it really seems to be picking up right now.
I went on some mini-divisions with Elder King on Tuesday night because they didn't make the bus to get out to their area 4 hours away! He is new but surprised me with his spanish! It wasn't too shabby! We contacted a lady and she asked if we wanted to speak english and we said sure. It was the hardest contact of my whole mission! I am so used to getting to know people in spanish that I kind of forgot the frases and questions we say in english! It was an odd experience, that's for sure.
I just want to take a second and tell you guys that I am really gaining a testimony of prayer. Little prayers to be more specific. About 3 weeks ago I said a mini prayer, asking to be able to teach a lesson before the end of the day, and the next place we went to let us in and we taught. After each day that I ask to meet someone new or to teach a lesson, I have not been let down. It has happened a solid 6 or 7 times in these weeks where I just say a little prayer toward the end of the day, asking for one more lesson or one more person that is interested. I know that He is listening to me, he just wanted me to show a little more faith. Yesterday we were teaching an older lady and during the last prayer I thought that I should ask her for a referral of a friend or neighbor. She told us about one of her neighbors so we went and talked to her. We have an appointment for tonight! I didn't think much of it. My companion told me afterward that at the same time (during the prayer), he felt like we should ask her for a reference! It was a cool little experience. We had a great day yesterday and taught several new people. Things are most definitely looking up!
Today for Pday we did typical pday things. One of which was go to Megapaca. It is basically the Ross of Honduras but instead of getting clothes from department stores, they come from Goodwill and D.I. I found so many things from Utah I cant even tell you. A framed photo of the Jordan River Temple, a Utah Trivia Game, Deseret something or other T-shirts, BYU and Utes stuff, etc. It was funny!
I walked away with some khaki shorts, a button up shirt, and 3 ties for $4.50! Good stuff!
Welp that's all folks, keep your stick on the ice!
Photos n stuff!
