Well, its
HOT! As
you can see in my caption! This past week was blazing and humid as ever! I
stick my arm out the window at night and I'd get all sticky and wet! No
bueno! Had a good rain storm that randomly came in
and I guess we almost had a twister. That would have been GREAT!
SERIOUSLY! Something exciting out here! haha but I got a cool video of
the lightning and my comp standing out on the dock of the lake! I'll attach it but here's a picture!
But this week was alright! Not a whole lot
happened but we got back in though with Maria and Roman! they are a family in Watertown and have been in Texas for a while! But
they said we could bring the Cabrera family with us on Thursday for the
next lesson. Hope all goes well there and we see some miracles!
Started
playing basketball this week as a ward to get non members to come and
it worked! We played outside and it was like 94 with a ton of humidity! Safe to say we were soaked! But it was fun!
Something
cool happened this week, we got to go to Milwaukee for the baptism
of Moises Sr. and his wife Ana Ruiz. They are the parents of Moises and
Payo, the brothers I baptized in Milwaukee! Really cool experience
seeing Moises Jr baptize his mom. It was pretty awesome and the Cabrera
family loved the Spanish branch! Safe to say, they want one! I do too!
We also did a lot of service this week and it was good! Got to get out of the shirt and neck noose (tie) a couple hours!
There was
a whole lot more than that happening this week and I know I'll
remember it later but that's what the post mission is for, stories on
stories on stories!
But I guess this weeks cool spiritual lesson is from sacrament meeting
yesterday! Brother Laws (2nd counselor in our bishopric) spoke to us
yesterday and told us about his hero. His story went like this.
"Today I
want to talk about temples and family history but I want to start off
by talking about heroes. We know we have superheroes and our parents as
heroes but I want to share a story about a hero in my life. On November
17th, 2015 I met my hero. My son Kaden, whose 8 years old, was at his
basketball game. Now, as you all know Kaden has down syndrome but that
doesn't stop my wife and him from doing as many things as possible. So,
during the game Kaden was having a blast running up and down the court,
most of the time, the wrong way but it didn't matter, he was having fun.
The whole game, none of Kadens teammates passed him the ball, which was
okay because he was having fun. But then all of the sudden, a kid on the
other team named Brock Whiter, on wrong side of the court called
out Kadens name and passed him the ball and said "here Kaden, shoot it!" And you know, he missed but the next time the ball went out of bounds, Brock in-bounded it right to Kaden again and told him to
shoot it again
and at this point the other players were starting to catch on and tried
to get him a bucket. And this touched me. A 5th grade boy, and such a
simple act touched my heart soo deeply. He didn't have to do that, Kaden
was having fun but he did anyways. so I went up to Brock after the game
and said "hey kid who are you?" and then just said thank you so much."
All in all, he told it better then me but you never know what your small
acts of kindness will do for people. Be like that 5th grade boy Brock
and think of others first. This is the only way we can feel that level
of joy. I have heroes in my life and i"m sure everyone else does too and
so just remember and always keep that thought in your head to always
serve others, and "bare one another's burdens" and yours will be
lightened! That's a promise from our heavenly father and savior Jesus Christ!
Hope
yall had a great week, I know I did! All of you family members who are reading
this, I better get some sweet pictures of Moon Lake next Monday!
Love yall! Hold it down!
